The premise for Knowing looks very similar to Next. I really liked Next. I hope they do a sequal, it has very high sequal potential in terms of plot. but then it probably was not a big money maker so maybe not. : (

The Knowing looks like another awareness raising film too! With science fiction there are no limits to the imagination, so you can go anywhere with it which is exciting in itself. But it also gives the opportunity to explore different possible futures, utopian or dystopian, which by their very nature make people think about the here and now, by taking them outside of their familiar reality to shed light upon it. So this looks like another impressive, interesting, exciting, consciousness raising popular film. Contrary to people who moan about Nic's film choices in the last few years, I'm really excited by them! biggrin.gif

I just saw this also on IMDB.com    It says it will be filmed in Australia, it looks great. so happy to see him still doing films in 2008
