Funny you should mention that Lula, when i was little i turned on the TV and saw that the film was in black and white, and for some reason didnt like the black and white, so i swithched stations, I didnt realise then that it was in 2 colours, I'm going back years ago, when i was only about 5 or so, then once i found out it was in colour when i switched back i was mesmerised by it, and have been ever since, as the film is very old, it was fascinating and clever how back then they had the black and white, then colour, to give the audience the feel of being in a magical land, which if we see the same today, wouldn't have the same effect, as it did back all those years ago,
I agree, its a timeless classic and always will be
I'm so glad you said that Scorpio! You'd be suprised how many people, when I've told them it's one of my all time favourites, look at me strangely .. As if its not cool. But I think it's full of magic! And symbols, all trippy and dreamlike.. With some real darkness in there too..I love every single millisecond of it! It's always struck me as such a simple but oh so powerful concept to turn a film from black and white to colour. I think at the time it was as much to do with the introduction of glorious technicolour as it was to do with the impact in the story. I think if I was ever to create a film, I would use colours, tones and shades as a means to emphasize moods and emotion. And put changing auras around people and flowing between people. It is very old now isn't it but stands the test of time, and will forever more.!!

That's one of my favourite films as well, since i was little, every christmas that movie use to come on, and each time i had to watch it, funny enough it was on i think over Easter, as my youngest daughter was watching it, it's so old, but still a great movie to watch I recognised the song straight away, being a wizard of oz fan
Thanks friends! It struck me in my lula brain today that you can't possibly have a clue of the tune i made for this little song! Ha ha silly me. I guess the 'because because because because because...' and the 'if ever oh ever a whiz there was' bits are the same as the original song in the original Wizard of Oz film! (one of my all time favourite films!) the rest is just playfulness really!
