That's why I would love to do a VIP to meet Donnie and the guys, they are never like that and always have time for their fans, of course if they are running late and they can't stop, but of all the times i've seen video clips from peoples phones on you tube, they always make time for their fans and sign things etc for them.
Some people I wouldn't give the time of day in the acting or music industry, well put it this way, "I wouldn't spit on them if they were on fire"...LMAO
You was well lucky to get to do that, and he seemed quite friendly, I suppose you just get the odd ones now and then, like you said about the second time with Axl, some can be so aloof and unproachable, then they wonder why fans aren't that interested anymore, it's the fans that make them what they are today I think, any one famous, if it wasn't for the fans and followers no one would buy records, dvd's etc, so they should at least acknowledge fans I think you always get the ones that think that they are above you, which really does annoy me at times
Back in 1990 I was a big Guns N Roses fan and when they came over here to do the Freddie Mercury tribute concert at Wembley stadium my friend Gloria and I went to their hotel, The Conrad in Chelsea Harbour, after the concert in the hope of seeing them. We managed to get into the foyer without being challenged by hotel staff or security and to our amazement Slash and some some of their female entourage were sitting in the lounge so we joined them and we chatted to Slash and he even gave me a high five handshake and gave me one of his Marlboro cigarettes! He was really lovely. A few months later we went to see Guns N Roses in concert at Wembley stadium and again after the concert we went to the Conrad hotel in Chelsea Harbour and managed to get in the foyer again but this time we saw Axl Rose. Axl arrived after us so we saw him walk into the hotel foyer with a huge bodyguard. Neither of them looked too friendly or approachable so we didn't approach Axl but we said hello to him and he just stared at us. What a difference to our meeting with Slash!
It wasn't that long ago that i got backstage for a band. maybe England is different. i think it depends on if they think someone is a screaming fan or just a person that just wants to say hi and wants an autograph. It depends on if the security guy or manager gets to talking with you. The people that are their managers love for them to have fans, they just want to know that the fans are cool mellow people that will not be a threat or anything like that. though, maybe England is stricter and maybe it depends on what band it is like you said. The ones I met were of medium popularity.
Oh you're so lucky Mgirl, it's hard nowdays I think, and especially with these guys, they have so many women fans over here, well especially Donnie, although he does go against the rules and does sign for people even though his security says no..lol, he loves his fans, its just I can't see that ever happening over here to be honest!, which is a shame, and being that you get some overly obsessed fans nowdays that they can spoil it for others! that they may do a rule that no backstage meeting I know what you mean about more chance in meeting a pop star more than an actor. I think I have more chance of winnin the lottery than meeting Nic....LMAO
I've gotten backstage for several bands in my lifetime, usually the best way to meet a singer is to talk to the security people when they do a show and tell them that you want an autograph. sometimes security guys talk to the singers and you can get invited backstage. Its happened to me a few times, you just have to ask them nicely sometimes . Many singers enjoy meeting fans, probably more likely to meet a singer than an actor.
I know, that is if I want to stake out where they stay in London, last time that stayed at the Metropolitan, not sure if they are coming back to the UK in autumn or not, they said they were when we saw them at the 02, depends how they go on with the summer tour in the states and canada. if they decide it's worth coming back here, although they say they love coming over here, as they can be themselves, it's more relaxed over here, which is true I suppose, no prudes I suppose...lol

2 things in my life i want is to meet Nic and Donnie, now that would be a dream come true, I have more chance of meeting Donnie more as I want to go VIP 5* next time he is over here, and you do get a chance to have a photo done with them and chat to them for a short while, so here's hoping
Myself and bec had an embarassing moment to do with a mobile call, on the NKOTB official forum there is a number where you can call the guys and leave a message, and there is a recorded message by Joe, saying leave us guys a message and we may call you back, anytime, anywhere, you may just get a call
So off we toddle down to the shops to credit my mobile enough to call Boston, well by the time we wrote down what we was gonna say, recorded it on my mobile to see what we sounded like, we both had butterflies in our stomach thinking who the hell is gonna leave the message.
So Bec's done the first part saying hi to the guys with our names and where we are from, then I had to struggle through my message saying how much we love them and hoping that they will get their butts back over to London for another show, i even left a message for Donnie saying that we are ready, waiting and a "Little Twisted", which is one of their songs anyway, for Face time!!!, so by the time the woman on the other end of the phone gabbled her way through a recorded message, saying press this number press that number, we was really feeling it now...LMAO, so we just got on with recording the message in to the mobile, and played it back, oh hell, what on earth did we sound like...LMAO, bec was saying she sounded like a man, and I sounded like i had a croaky voice, so we sent it anyway, and I said to bec, I will have to send another one apologising for my croaky voice as I have a bit of sinus and a funny throat, so I called back and said "hey guys , just left a message for ya, sorry about the rough voice, as i have a bit of a cold, see ya later".....LMAO,
I said to Bec after never again, as it was nerve racking, and blooming costly, cost me £5 to call from the mobile, just to hear I sounded like a guy...LMAO....
oh well, what do you do when you are a fan of someone, and there maybe just a glimmer of hope that the mobile may ring when you are least expecting it, and then you find one of the guys on the other end chatting to you, well one thing for certain, my phone goes everywhere with me now, even to the loo, just hoping that I hear Donnie on the other end, blimey when that happens, there will be a thud to the floor.
