As some of you might recall, I started speaking with John Ordrasik of Five for Fighting and his manager Gillian, last year in regards to sending me a case of CD's for my fellow Wounded Warriors. He made sure we got the CD's in record time and the wounded Soldiers really appreciated the effort. Here is our latest conversation we just had minutes ago about his latest CD for the Troops. He is such a great guy, very down to earth and he really cares about our Troops.
Good Question. We have several hundred Soldiers now in the Wounded Warrior Units now. But I do not think we need that many, I mainly want to give the CD's to those Soldiers that are seriously injured and are not able to move about much or are at the hospital recovering. So maybe about a hundred if that is ok?
John/Gillian, Thank you for once again putting together another fabulous CD for the Troops. Your effort and dedication goes above and beyond the normal. We want you to know that the Soldiers of the Wounded Warrior Battalions on Fort Hood recognize and respect that. Your CD's given out to many a Wounded Soldier to lift their spirits and put a smile on faces.
Last year you sent us a small box of the CD's and if it would not be rude, I would like to ask if its possible again to do that with this new CD for the Troops. If so I have enclosed my mailing address and upon receiving the CD's will distribute them amongst the Wounded Warrior Units. I know that Soldiers can upload them on computers, but not all the Wounded Warriors have computers in their rooms or are able to sit at computers due to back injuries. They can however put a CD in a portable CD player and listen while sitting or laying down in bed or play while at Physical therapy.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Very respectfully, SGT Darcy L. Quinlan US Army
