I stayed at the Mammoth Mountain ski lodge in Southern California back in 1990.

I was on a two week coach (bus) trip to California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah.
It was September and there was no snow so it was open for coach tourists to stay overnight.
It was an amazing place with breathtaking views.

Is this the same ski resort as you mentioned N4L????biggrinwink

Hi Corelli!

Mammoth Mountain is definitely in the same area code (760) but a different mountain.

Wrightwood is located in San Bernardino County, the largest county in the United States.  Wrightwood is located in the San Gabriel Mountains which consists of three large mountains.  It's really weird because on one side of the mountain, we get all 4 seasons including the snow and very warm weather, up to 105.  On the other side, it's Los Angeles County and most of the time it's usually sunny.  Although it does rain and it can get pretty warm, up to say... 98 degrees.

I know you UK folks are used to the snow including our mid and eastern parts of America...

But we rarely get snow in Southern California... Well... I'm cheating just a bit... I live near a ski-resort in Southern Cali!  I lost a windshield wiper last night, driving in the snow!  Terrible to drive in but lovely to watch!
