Nicolas Cage's newest thriller, Season of the Witch has reportedly not impressed the folks at Lionsgate, and the studio is sending the film back for reshoots this September.
According to Bloody Disgusting, early screenings of the film have not pleased, and Lionsgate will hold additionally photography in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Season of the Witch is a supernatural thriller that has Nicholas Cage as a 14th century crusader who returns from battle to find that a young witch (Claire Foy) has been accused of devastating his homeland with the black plaugue. Ron Perlman (Hellboy) and Christopher Lee (Lord of the Rings) also appear in supporting roles. The project is being helmed by Dominic Sena from a script by Bragi Schut.
The less than stellar test screenings have delayed the film's original March 2010 release, and it remains unknown when this one will eventually make its way to theaters.
