I think not being with someone who loves you and you love them back is probably the worst torture anyone could endure. I mean at least with the unrequited(spell?) kind you can move on and find someone else but knowing that there's someone out there that loves you and you love them and there's not a damn thing you can do to change your circumstances of your life would just suck the big one. A slap in the face by destiny herself. A cruel joke. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy(MARJORIE if you're reading!).
All I know for sure is I ain't EVER gonna give into it again in this lifetime.

Actually I think it's the other way around. Because with unrequited love, at a certain point you realize they won't ever love you and it's a lost cause. With love that can't be together, I think the agony of the love........the needing of the person you love.......that YEARNING for the one who you KNOWS loves you back would be horrific.

I think unrequited love is worse because no matter how much you love someone they're never going to return that love whereas a love between two people who can never be together is painful yet you have the consolation of knowing the other person loves you in return. Having said that BOTH situations are unbearable.
I'm not sure which is worse.... 'Unrequited love' or the 'love between two people who can't be together'. Both of them are sure tickets to agony.

I love this poem. I didn't write it though...it was written by a lady named Nicole Mendez.
In this poem the author faces the truth of a "one way" relationship. She loves him, but he doesn't return her affections - an all too common circumstance of love...
Longing For You
by Nicole Mendez
Pain and agony, that's what you cause me. I love you so much and I can't let it be. Your blue eyes are like the magical sky. When you look at me I could just die. You make my heart melt every time you speak. Just you, yourself, make me weak. I wish I could have you. You have no idea what I would do. But I can't have you now, she has you. She would be stupid to ever let you go, I wish I were her; you can't begin to know. If she ever hurts you, remember I'll be here. I love you and I will always care. I would make you happy, I promise you that. If you did something good, I'd give you a pat on the back. Of course none of these fantasies will ever come true; all that will be between us is my love for you.
Wasn't sure if I should post this along with my fantasy (goes along perfectly) in the Naughty section or here. So! I am posting it in both places! LOL! BTW.....I didn't write it myself. I sure wish I did tho!
and spiral like thousands of twinkling diamond stars.
How I ache to feel you deep within me,
one with me and my heart, our bodies
finally merged as are our souls and intoxicate on the blend
of our essences creating a unique perfume. Heady and sweet.
Oh, to feel your weight upon me,
I, deliciously impaled immobile -
to feel the force of loving thrusts
each urgency climbing higher.
To visualize it, is almost ecstasy -
the moment of ultimate trust
between such souls as you and I.
How I long for that sacred moment
when with throbbing pulses ours,
I hold my breath to savour your
gift of the purest of you, your essence.
