I'm so glad you've been to the cheddar gorge scorpiolady! The most magical part for me was the boat excursions through the waters in the caves, all lit up inside. It really transports you almost to another time. I wonder if Nic and Alice will take Kal-El one day? It's definitely a place for a child's imagination.

You can still walk amongst the stones on a solstice, there is a huge, amazing celebration where people gather and watch the sun come up over the stones.

The next one is the winter solstice the night/dawn of 21st/22nd of December!
There is such a timelessness about stonehenge and other stone circles which really puts things in perspective. All the trappings of life, which really aren't important, that we all get caught up in, just fall away.

The fact that the west country has magical and mystical connections is one of the main reasons Nic chose to buy properties in Somerset. biggrin

Oh i love Cheddar Gorge, i went there going back a few years ago, i hope to go again soon, its a wonderous place, i never did climb Jacob's ladder...lol hmm

There is just something about the west country and all these places, long time ago you use to be able to touch the stones at stonehenge, but i think it was safer to keep vandals away by not letting tourists near them now, which i think is a shame, where the likes of us who have a genuine interest in the mystical side of them, have had the pleasure taken away, sort of not knowing the energy that can flow through them hmm

thanks Scorpiolady! You'll both love Bath. Jane Austen's work always includes Bath society! I've been fortunate enough to have friends and relatives in the West country all my life. My grandparents used to live in Frome in Somerset so I've been to Bath as a child many times. Stonehenge is still a soulful and mind blowing experience, even though you can't get anywhere near the stones.
My friend, who is no longer with us unfortunately, lived in Glastonbury.. magical days and nights there. There really is an amazing energy in that part of the country.
But ladies, my absolute favourite.. My totally dream place, is the Cheddar Gorge. It's simply breathtaking. wooky caves in particular.. I swear i was the wooky witch in a past life! lol!:biggrin i love the idea of descending into the magic of the earth, all the stalagtites and stalagmites.. as you know i love crystals as amazing, natural, magical, objects created by the earth!

Now I wish I could post pics of the cheddar gorge and caves! grrr!

I've always wanted to go to Bath, as my neighbours have been and said it's lovely there, i would love to combine it with a visit to stonehenge, that has to be the most magical, mystical place ever built over here i would imagine smile

Oh yeah, the tour bus, i thought that was so funny, who would want a tour bus going by your windows every hour of the day, and the tourists taking pics hmm

personally i wouldn't like it, it spoils the character of the Circus, hmm

I've never been to Bath either...I have visited the west country but I went to Devon!
Kim...perhaps we should take a trip down there in the summer to see the sights?

Interesting find Lesley biggrin it looks lovely there, my neighbours have visited Bath and they say it's really nice there, i may have to visit one day as i have always wanted to go smile but just haven't had the chance, i would like to combine it with a visit to stonehenge.
The video footage Lula, is about an american tourist who has made a short video of the Circus in Bath, he is just explaining about the architecture, how the Circus is a tourist attraction ( i wouldn't care for the bus keep going around though cry if i lived there) just general things like that. He doesnt mention who lives there, just thats it's a haven for wealthy people to live really smile
