Ha ha, I know, it looks awful doesn't it not as bad tasting as it looks just the colour and some of the texture is a bit iffy...lol, I suppose it has something in it as they are preserved for about 4 to 6 yrs in packaging
got it, yeah know the feeling, how about this pic then, i suppose the colour of it is enough to put you off food for life..lol, I actually had this last night with the chicken, didn't get chance to take a pic of the compo chicken, we ate it too quick, plus it was just like a micro meal and it was really nice, but as for the lemon pud, well see for yourself, Bec wouldn't touch it, but I had it along with the dog and cat....LMAO
The magnificent lemon pudding and sauce if you can call it that
yeah thats the stuff, I'm going to try it later, I know they are designed for the field training and excersise, they tried sausage and beans last night, the chicken and rice sounds nice, last night they had the new packets of food and alot of it they haven't tried even the sergeant hasn't tried the lemon pudding, bless him, he gave that to me first, yeah so if i die tonight, he wont have to try it...ha ha, i have the halal chicken wonder what that tastes like, blimey if it's loaded with loads of calories I better not eat too much of the stuff, I'm desperately trying to lose weight as it is...lol, Bec says she needs too, blimey there is nothing of her
I had to laugh, he showed me the small white block that they cook on that fits into a tiny metal container, blimey if thats the case just to pop one of those boil in the bag meals onto that, well not too bad then...lol, couldn't cook anything else on one, you would be there months of sundays...LMAO

Ah...you mean the ready made meals! Everything tastes good with the little bottle of hotsauce they include with it!! But because the meals are designed for when Soldiers are in the field, they are loaded with Calories, so if your not working/sweating your can off - you will gain weight bigtime!! My favorite is the Chicken and Rice.

Thanks Darc and Lesley, yeah things will get better gradually, that's why i wasn't on that much, had too much to sort out in my life, but i will get there.

Btw, Bec had compo tonight, Darc you would know what it tastes like, how would you describe it??...lol sergeant Harley says **** !!!, Bec said not that great, I want to prove them wrong and say it's nice...lol can't be that bad surely....lol
I was given Chicken casserole and lemon sponge pudding, bless him he gave me the best, he is giving me and Bec some army chocolate, its a yorkie bar but a bit more sugar and tastes a bit different, can't be that bad surely, all i know if you eat compo you can't go to the loo for about 5 days when eating it for a few days in a row, and he says you are in agony !!!

Bec loves it, she will even be more excited when I tell her what her sergeant has lined up for her tonight, and the fact that she now has clearance from her school for the afternoon, which is a relief for me as I won't have to go through the hassle of writing a letter to cover his letter for them to grant her time off for the day, you know how funny schools can be when it's in their time
Your very welcome. Use it well and with pride! Just maybe do not get it tatt'd on your lower back like I did. I have what is called a Soldiers tatt. It was done by a fellow Wounded Warrior and its an M16 with dog tags hanging off the muzzle and my nickname "The Soldier Girl" across the M16. LOL.

This is excellent news Kim...I bet you're very proud of Bec's!
It's such a privilege and an honour and an occasion that Bec's will treasure.
Congratulations Bec's!
Thanks hun, yes that's one thing she will remember for a very long time and she is wishing the days away now...lol, I think she must be excited... does it show...LMAO
If i was in her shoes I would be as well, excited and nervous at the same time
update about the trip, not long got off phone from the sergeant, was on for over 3hrs, boy he does chat...lol, nice guy, bec wondered who on earth i was chatting to,
This trip now is turning out to be extremely a rare opportunity, i've now been informed that Royalty may be there, Sergeant Harley is well surprised if someone from the Royal family will not attend, he is certain that either Prince Phillip or Prince Charles or even the Queen will be there, and they will get to meet the royals personally, was also informed that this event has never invited cadets along, but their unit is the only one that has been invited, and will probably be all in the National papers, as I'm on good speaking terms with the sergeant, (practically tells me his life story) as Bec says we chat like old friends...lol, he has said that he will be able to get me a copy of any pics that will be taken that day for me to frame, bless him when I get the pics I will post one up for you to see, as for this General Dannat, I didn't realise how important this guy really is, but from the conversation on the phone tonight, I've been put well in the picture of what is gonna happen on that day
As some of you maybe aware that Bec is currently in the army cadets, and is getting on fine there and enjoying herself, She has been chosen to attend a rare opportunity by her sergeant in her unit along with 11 others to attend the insertion of the new Constable of the Tower of London !!
General Dannat, ex Head of the British Army is being installed as the new Constable and the cadets have the honour of being able to meet him personally.
The ceremony is very educational and an historic event which only a priviliged few have the opportunity to attend.
Bec will have to attend in full combat and I think during the ceremony will have their picture taken and to shake hands with the General, that's what we have been told, sounds like an opportunity not to be missed, that's why her segeant Harley has approached her school and the rest of the cadets asking permission for them to be excused by lunch time, I don't think she will have a problem getting the time off school as he told me as it's government they should grant this permission, but knowing schools in this borough, god knows, on the day she gets her travel costs paid, but has to pay for her trip to McDonalds, (too good to miss...lol) thought he would have to stop enroute on way home, looks like he loves his grub.....lol
Shame us parents couldn't attend, bet it would have been great to see this happening, it's not every day that you see your son or daughter at a major event that only takes place once in 15yrs or more could have got some NICe pics
