Here's a bit of scoop Corelli, one of the ADs for Season of the Witch was on the Warner Bros. lot a few days ago. I had a chance to speak with him.
Yes, we briefly talked about "Season of the Witch." He said, Lionsgate is having a hard time finding a solid audience during testing of the movie. He also said, Nic is bad at accents and for this period piece, it's like they threw a surfer dude in the middle of the 14th century. He also mentioned, Nic is getting a bad rap in the media lately.
He went on to say, it was a smart move on Lionsgate's part to pull the movie until they can do further research on how to effectively market the movie to the right audience.
For what it's worth, I told him Nic is a great actor and person. He agreed.

According to the article Lionsgate didn't want Season of the Witch's release date to clash with those other films!
I absolutely agree with the article. Though I love Nic, his period piece would not have stood a fair shot had he opened on the 19th... Way too much competition at the box office.
I would definitely shoot for a less competitive weekend, like the month of October or somewhere around there.
Additionally, the official "Season of the Witch" website, no longer shows a release date of March 19, 2010, instead, it simply says, "Coming Soon." So, if you were lucky to snag a poster with the March 19th release date, that poster is officially a collector's item!
